Festival internacional de ación artísticaca sostenible, Murcia 4 y 5 de Mayo de 2008.
The event aims to bring to Murcia the art scene's most dynamic and ground breaking artistic practices. Lasting 48 hours (with 24 hours dedicated to the live creation of the art works and the remaining 24 hours dedicated to exhibiting them), this first edition aims to encourage cultural reflection sustainability as a concept that allows us to reflect and re-frame visual culture, democracy, information society, techno-sustainability, consumer society -CULTURE- as well as tourism, immigration, nature, and urbanism -ENVIRONMENT- in an intersdicplinary environment in which both the artists and public can participate. Our goal is to establish ourselves as a cutting-edge European benchmark.
On 02 and 03 May 2008, SOS 4.8 will present transgressive representations of contemporary art, a cutting-edge musical programme and the Voices space. All this will benefit from the involvement of influential figures from the art world.
The artists chosen to take part in the festival will create their project in the space of 24 hours, thus establishing a live interaction with the public. Over the following 24 hours the art works produced in the festival will be exhibited alongside the work of the guest artists, and live happenings will be held. An urban exhibition space that will convert the city of Murcia into a centre for emerging, cutting-edge, international art.
