'ReacTable'

ReacTable is a collaborative electronic musical instrument with a touchable interface based on a mixing desk and inspired by modular synthesizers from the 60’s. It was developed by the Group of Musical Technology at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, a investigation team made up of Sergi Jordá, Marcos Alonso, Günter Geiger and Martin Kaltenbrunner. Multiple simultaneous users share total control of the instrument by moving and rotating physical objects on the surface of a round luminous table. The manipulation of said objects, representing the classic components of a modular synthesizer, allows the user to create complex and dynamic sound topologies, using generators, filters and modulators, in a delightful touchable modular synthesizer. Bjork used it on her last tour and now it is coming to Murcia to show us the revolution.

HEHE

HEHE

'.'

HEHE is an artistic duo formed by the artists living in Paris Helen Evans (born in 1972 in the United Kingdom) and Heiko Hansen (born in 1970 in Germany). The association created in Paris in 2001, receives the same year the Prize CyNetArt of interactive installation. Their work is articulated concerning a subversion of the technological systems that surround us. HeHe is defined as a " platform for the art, the design and the search, exploring new routes to integrate the binary mass media in a physical environment ". Many of their projects explore the possibilities of correlations between the physical, chemical and environmental phenomena. Under the apparent technological pragmatism of their projects a wide poetical approximation is insinuated. They have exposed their work in Pompidou Center, the Milan triennial, and the Electrohype of Malmo.

“Between now and 5 minutes ago”, the work is a two day performance, taking place simultaneously in Murcia/Amsterdam. During day one we build an exact copy of our studio in Amsterdam. During day 2 we continue working on our ongoing projects. The Horse is built during the available 48 hours, evolving into a ‘Green Screen’ stage for performing a tragedy based on obsessive rituals of love and torture. The audience must then penetrate only to find themselves hooded in green, involved in the performance and transpositioned through videoworks made in Berlin, Obersalzburg, Kabul and San Juan. The art and the audience are flattened into darker truths about green, fascism and colonial history suggesting the deployable, transgressive emotion found in the Trojan Horse’s viscera.

“Notes for a film” is a film whose support is not a screen, but sheets of paper. It will be a film that is “screened” –or exhibited– by printing sheet after sheet on various printers simultaneously. Various inkjet printers situated at table-top level will allow different groups of text and images to be seen in the process of being printed in real time, building up narrative sequences as sheet after sheet add up. Visitors will be able to see how each of the series is activated in “direct time”. Here time sets to work and allows our attention to be captured until the next image finishes printing.

A portrait of three local elders who will represent the population of Murcia. Working with the local council, we will locate the oldest individuals living in the city. Videoing those individuals in their home environment; an intimate, and brief portrait. An effort to sustaining and preserving local culture and the memory of its inhabitants for future generations. A woven piece, constructed from local ropes, will aim to encompass a sense all of those individuals. Memory, story-telling and history will be conveyed in the construction and thus enabling us to sustain them.
